First Semester Reflection
The journey I took to end up here at IUPUI was a twisty one. In the fall of 2022, I thought I was going to go to a private school down in Knoxville Tennessee but it did not end up being the best decision. Then I discovered a program at Ivy Tech where I could get my associate degree in eleven months for a fraction of the price it would take for two years somewhere else. I was so excited to zoom through my first two years of college.
But after learning more about it, I realized the program would not satisfy my need for community, and on top of that Ivy Tech was not going to accept all of my dual credit classes. All of these concerns prompted me to apply to IUPUI. It was by God’s will that I got into IUPUI because the day I offhandedly decided to apply to IUPUI was the very last day that they were accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year.
Since that day, I have learned a lot about myself and I have met a lot of new lovely people. I struggled with my friendships toward the end of high school but it has been wonderful to grow closer to new friends as well as friends I have known for a while.
Another thing I have enjoyed this semester is my photography class. I have been taking pictures as a hobby for the past two years but my photography professor has shown me how to take it to the next level. To the right is one of my favorite pictures I have taken. I never would have had the inspiration to take a picture like that if I hadn’t taken this class. I am very blessed to be able to attend IUPUI and I am excited to see where my studies here take me.
